Soccer

Soccer, also known as football in most countries outside North America, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. The players primarily use their feet to control and move the ball, but they can also use their bodies, except for the arms and hands, which are reserved for the goalkeeper. The game is played on a rectangular field with goalposts at either end. It is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Soccer is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of players and fans, and it is organized at various levels, including amateur leagues, professional clubs, and international competitions, such as the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skillful play, contributing to its widespread appeal and cultural significance in many countries.
