Basketball

Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by shooting a ball through the opponent’s hoop or goal. The game is played on a rectangular court with a hoop at each end, and teams score by successfully making field goals or free throws. The objective is to accumulate more points than the opposing team within a designated time frame, which is divided into quarters or halves. Players can advance the ball by dribbling or passing, and the game is characterized by its fast pace, skillful ball handling, and teamwork. Basketball is governed by specific rules regarding fouls, violations, and scoring. It is popular worldwide and has numerous professional leagues, most notably the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the United States.
